    Outdoor ‘25 Design Awards

    An international recognition for the best project dedicated to the design, planning and equipment of outdoor spaces.

    IN COLLABORATION WITH:

    We created these awards because we are committed to outdoor spaces that promote quality of life and respect for the environment, and we do so in collaboration with the Spanish Association of Landscape Architects, the Architects’ Association of Catalonia (COAC), and Rosa Gres.

    The registration period is open until 20 September 2025.

    An Award for outdoor spaces that enhance life and care for the environment

    Created in 2025, the OUTDOOR DESIGN Awards recognise the best projects and products devoted to the design, planning and furnishing of outdoor spaces, ranging from urban gardens to large recreational areas.

    Categories and procedure

    Among the works nominated by the jury, the LANDSCAPE AND OUTDOOR SPACES CATEGORY AWARD . The OUTDOOR DESIGN Awards rate the creativity, sustainability and the ability to transform the setting into a functional and aesthetically appealing space.

    The competition is of an international nature and it is open to landscape architects and designers with a current official qualification. They may participate individually or as part of an interdisciplinary team, provided that at least one of the members meets the qualification requirements. Projects must have been carried out in the period 2020-2025.

    The jury

    The jury is made up of renowned experts in the fields of landscape architecture, architecture and design.

    Rosa Maria Torra

    Rosa Maria Torra

    She is part of the first graduating class of landscape architects, 2005, with a specific degree from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, in addition to holding a degree in architecture. She started working at the Municipal Institute of Parks and Gardens in Barcelona, where she developed the Jardins Joan Brossa, a project selected for the FAD Awards. She later worked for over 20 years in the Public Works Department of the Sabadell City Council, contributing to notable projects such as Parc de la Romeua, Plaça d’Espanya —also recognized by the Vallès Delegation of the Architects’ Association of Catalonia— and Parc de les Aigües.

    Iñaki Viñuela

    Iñaki Viñuela

    He is a biologist (ecologist) from the University of the Basque Country and a landscape architect from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. He is the director of Evergreen Paisajismo, a company with over 20 years of experience in designing public and private spaces, committed to best practices, sustainability, nature-based solutions, and the fight against climate change. Since 2024, he has been the president of the Spanish Association of Landscape Architects the only professional landscape architecture association in Spain, advocating for professional recognition, the promotion of landscape architecture, quality education, and the protection of the landscape. He also teaches project courses in two master’s programs at DMAD (Nebrija University).

    Marina Cervera

    She holds degrees in Architecture and Landscape Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC-BarcelonaTech). She earned a Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture (MLA, 2003) and a Master’s in Urbanism Research (MIUrb, 2014) from the same university. Her professional career has included work at Ateliers Jean Nouvel (Paris), the Landscape Research and Projects Center (CRPPB led by Rosa Barba at UPC), and since 2003, her own practice, NABLABCN, based in Barcelona, focused on planning, landscape architecture, and architecture. She is a member of the Executive and Scientific Committee of the Barcelona International Landscape Biennial.

    Marcel·lí Sugrañes

    Marcel·lí Sugrañes

    Trained as an industrial engineer, he is currently the CEO of the Rosa Gres group, a manufacturer of porcelain paving tiles specialized in swimming pools, outdoor spaces, and façades. He has always shown a strong interest in developing both construction systems that simplify on-site implementation and products with a strong design and aesthetic component that add significant value to construction. He is an active member of the Green Building Council Spain.

    Activities

    The Prize consists of a prize-giving ceremony and an exhibition of the works.

    The ceremony will take place on Monday 17 November, and consists of the presentation of the award and a diploma. 

    The winning project will be exhibited to the public in the Show’s Innovation Zone, which can be visited from 17 to 20 November 2025.
