Interview with Andrés Gómez, General Manager of Aiper

Aiper comes to Piscina Barcelona ready to redefine pool cleaning and management with solutions powered by artificial intelligence. CEO Andrés Gómez explains how the company combines technology, sustainability and design to create a new generation of robots that learn, adapt and optimise energy and resource consumption. Its recent alliance with Fluidra bolsters this vision, aimed at assembling a smart ecosystem for the outdoor home where technology acts as an invisible assistant at the service of well-being.

    • Aiper is an emerging leader in cordless robotic pool cleaners with smart technology. How would you compare your value proposition to the competition?

Aiper embodies the concept of “AI for Person”: intelligent technology designed to make everyday tasks easier, offering more free time and ultimately bringing that holiday feeling home. Our mission is to create a freer and simpler lifestyle through innovation and technology, allowing users to fully enjoy themselves without having to deal with their pool maintenance.
What distinguishes Aiper from its competitors is twofold. Firstly, we go beyond traditional cleaning, offering effortless pool care by taking care of complex maintenance tasks. Secondly, our AI is truly at the service of the user: through products such as the recently launched Scuba V3 and N3, and the Scuba X series, we leverage AI vision cleaning, multi-sensor navigation, Omnisense+ pool mapping and Patrol cleaning modes to deliver precise, adaptive and energy-efficient cleaning that responds to users’ real needs, ensuring reliable performance through a stable design and consistent results season after season.

    • Recently, Aiper and PoolCorp announced a strategic alliance to bring professional pool cleaning robot technology to the market. What motivated this collaboration and what impact do you expect it to have commercially and technologically?

The collaboration between Aiper and PoolCorp is based on a shared vision of accelerating innovation in the pool industry and improving the experience for both professionals and owners. By partnering with the industry’s leading distributor, we bring Aiper’s AI-powered cordless robot cleaners to a wider professional audience.

Commercially, this alliance allows Aiper to extend its market reach, offering retailers, pool builders and maintenance companies access to our full range of products, helping them to meet the growing demand for modern, effortless pool care solutions.

From a technological point of view, it drives innovation across the industry, enabling professionals to adopt smarter, adaptive and more efficient cleaning solutions, helping to raise industry standards.

    • Fluidra has acquired a 27% stake in Aiper with the aim of strengthening its commercial presence and joint innovation. How do you see this investment in the short and medium term, both financially and in terms of technological integration?

Fluidra’s investment represents a strategic partnership to combine complementary strengths, expand the untapped pool cleaning market and reach more customers, while Aiper maintains its operational and management independence.

For Aiper, this alliance allows us to extend our distribution networks in Europe and worldwide, strengthen our omnichannel presence and consolidate our position in the professional pool channel. As for Fluidra, it offers the opportunity to expand its product range within the professional channel and bring innovative robotic cleaning solutions to a larger number of customers.
Looking ahead, the alliance supports global expansion and a shared vision to lead a smart home outdoor ecosystem, offering more efficient, connected and sustainable pool and garden solutions for professionals and end users alike.

    • One of Aiper’s pillars is the application of artificial intelligence and advanced navigation in pool cleaning robots. How are you using AI to optimise cleaning, energy efficiency and adaptation to different pool types?

AI is at the heart of Aiper’s innovation, powering both our pool robots and our skimmers. The newly launched Scuba V3 and N3 incorporate front-facing cameras and object recognition to detect small debris and identify more than 20 types of debris, enabling targeted cleaning 10 times faster than conventional planning and cleaning. Combined with grid navigation algorithms, they ensure accurate coverage and avoid drains, stairs, lights, steps and pool toys. Using AI Vision to recognise and locate debris in real time, the Scuba V3 and N3 dynamically adjust their cleaning routes, minimising redundant movements and improving both accuracy and efficiency. In the Patrol Cleaning mode, they concentrate on dirty areas, limiting the weekly operating time to 1-1.5 hours and reducing energy consumption.

Our new 3-in-1 proactive skimmer with AI and water quality management —the EcoSurfer Senti— employs AI-patrolled surface cleaning with a 2-metre detection range, able to recognise dozens of debris types and achieve precise AI-driven cleaning that is five times faster. Together, these AI-powered capabilities create a smart, adaptive pool ecosystem that delivers precise cleaning and energy-efficient operation, realising Aiper’s vision of a smarter, more effortless pool experience.

    • What is Aiper’s innovation roadmap for the next 3 to 5 years? In particular, what new features or technological developments do you plan to introduce?

Aiper’s future roadmap will continue to focus on delivering real value to users, rather than chasing flashy new features. We will do our utmost to promote innovations that reduce the time and effort users spend on maintenance, allowing them to enjoy more of their free time.

As a leader in AI technologies within the pool industry, Aiper will continue to advance the application of artificial intelligence in cleaning and water management, improving automation, accuracy and efficiency to make pool care increasingly smart and effortless for all users.

    • Regarding your participation in Piscina Barcelona 2025, what will be the main attractions presented at the Aiper stand? Will there be product launches, live demonstrations or pilot projects with distributors or professional partners?

At Piscina Barcelona 2025, Aiper will present several key innovations. Firstly, our Scuba V3 and N3 represent the world’s first pool cleaning robots with cognitive AI, capable of detecting, identifying and collecting debris in real time. They offer fully autonomous and adaptive cleaning, with complete coverage and optimised energy efficiency. Weighing only 7.5 kg, they are the lightest pool robots with AI vision, making them easy to use and comfortable even for older users.

Secondly, we will present the EcoSurfer Senti, the world’s first proactive smart water management system. Its integrated monitoring system continuously assesses pool conditions, automatically dosing and balancing water chemistry before problems arise. With fast chemical testing, real-time information and seamless underwater communication, the EcoSurfer Senti ensures cleaner, safer and effortless pool care.

Finally, Aiper’s eco-efficient irrigation system demonstrates our commitment to smart outdoor solutions. Through customisable watering zones, real-time weather data and adaptive scheduling, it replicates natural rhythms, saves resources and helps keep more beautiful, balanced gardens.

    • What is your vision for the role of intelligent robots in the future of the pool industry?

Our vision is to become the leading brand in the smart home outdoor ecosystem, making technology an invisible assistant that allows users to fully enjoy their homes and gardens without worrying about maintenance.

    • To conclude, what message would you like to share with the industry professionals who visit your stand at Piscina Barcelona 2025?

At Aiper we believe that the future of the pool industry will be defined by predictive intelligence, sustainability and simplicity. To our distributors and professional partners we extend an open invitation to build that future together.

Intelligent robots will become proactive caretakers, capable of autonomously monitoring, optimising and maintaining water quality. This change transforms pool care into a seamless and connected experience, creating new value for both professionals and end users.
