Trained in biology, scenography and landscape at ENSP Versailles, he conceives landscapes as living soils. His office expanded to Germany, Spain, China and the U.S. He taught at ENSP (1988-1998) and chaired the Landscape Architecture Department at KIT (1998–2023).
